Event Name:Pickens County Canning Plant Open
Location:Behind Jasper Middle School
Start Date:7/8/2010
Start Time:8:00 AM
Description:The plant is a joint program made available by the Georgia Department of Education, Pickens County School System and Pickens County Commissioner's office and is available to assist you in turning your fruit and vegetables into jellies, sauces, soup or other delectable products.
The plant is operated by Agriculture Education teachers Jason Cantrell, Joe Wright and Todd Dobson. They are there to provide instruction in safe food processing procedures as well as running the equipment in the plant.
Customers need to have their product prepped and in the containers ready to process no later than noon.
If you want to learn more about the operation or if your kitchen sink is running over with green beans, drop by and see how the guys in the canning plant can help you.
