CALLING ALL ARTISTS AND ART PATRONS -LOCAL FINE ARTS COMPETITION

A great opportunity for artists to sell their work and possibly win prize money is coming this fall. Pickens County, GA hosts the Georgia Marble Festival each year the first full weekend in October. 2010 is the 30th year for the festival, and it will be held on October 2 &3. Art entries are due August 6, 2010 for a juried and judged Fine Arts Competition held in the Chamber of Commerce building that culminates the weekend of Marble Festival. Prize money totals $3,750 and the Competition also offers a great opportunity to sell your art. If your art entry is accepted, you will be invited to attend a wonderful artist/sponsor reception held on October 1. For those of you that do not create your own art, but love art and want to support the arts in Pickens County, we offer sponsorships for the Marble Festival Fine Arts Competition. Every year we reach out to the Fine Arts community and call for entries of art in four categories. This competition has an excellent reputation and draws artists from all over the country. In order to offer acceptable prize money, we need to raise funds through sponsorship opportunities. All funds raised through the Fine Arts portion of the Marble Festival are accounted for by Fine Arts only and are used to continue the tradition of offering a respected and renowned Competition.
