Mountain City Girl Scouts Begin the 2010-2011 Scouting Year7/27/2010 - Girl Scouts from across Pickens begin to reconvene as they say goodbye to summer at their “End of Summer” Pool Party on August 1, 2010 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Pickens County Public Pool. All registered Girl Scouts are encouraged to attend and bring a friend. What a fun way to send summer off with a splash!
Many events and community service endeavors are underway as the Girl Scouts prepare for the 2010-2011 year. A Scout Field Day will be held on August 28, 2010 (time and location TBD), and anyone not yet registered with the Mountain City Girl Scouts but who would like to attend can come register that day and participate in the fun and activities.
Girl Scouts learn to help each other and their communities through real-life experiences, field trips, meetings, service projects, and the fun and knowledge they share along the way. When asked what she liked most about her Girl Scouting experience, Daisy Madison Lawson responded, “I made lots of new friends, and I have so much fun.” Bring your daughter out and let her experience a whole new world through scouts!
