CTC Foundation seeks sponsorships for Legacy Awards 7/5/2010 - The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation has announced plans to honor Ambassador Andrew Young at this year’s Legacy Awards luncheon on Oct. 7. The fundraiser, which is held at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, is coordinated annually by the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation.
“This is our sixth annual Legacy Awards event,” said Melinda Ashcraft, president of the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation. “The support of local and national businesses and individuals helps us in our mission of serving students.”
Young, a native of New Orleans, is an American politician, diplomat and pastor from Georgia who has served as Mayor of Atlanta, a Congressman from the 5th district, and United States Ambassador to the United Nations. He served as President of the National Council of Churches USA, was a member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) during the 1960s Civil Rights Movement, and was a supporter and friend of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Sponsorship packages begin at $1,000 and include invitations to a sponsors’ reception, seats at the luncheon, recognition on invitations, programs and other foundation reports and photo opportunities at the reception. Funds raised through sponsorships and ticket sales are used to support students and programs at Chattahoochee Technical College. While many of the students receive traditional financial aid to cover tuition and fees, they find themselves looking for additional funding for tools, uniforms, equipment and books. The foundation also provides support for college needs where state funding falls short.

At the Champions Sponsor level, confirmed sponsors include WellStar and Croy Engineering.
